Pre-Porting Checklist
Before you port, check these rules:
⏳
90 Days Rule: You must have used your current network for at least 90 days before you can port out.
💳
Clear Dues: If you are a postpaid user, ensure your current bill is completely paid off.
📱
Active SMS Pack: You need an active outgoing SMS pack to send the PORT message to 1900.
🆔
Valid ID: The new connection must be registered in the same name/ID as the person receiving it.
Common MNP Questions
No. Your old SIM will continue to work perfectly for 3 to 5 days while the porting process happens in the background.
Wait until the network signal on your OLD SIM completely disappears. Once there is no network, remove it, insert your NEW SIM, and restart your phone.
Your existing balance, data, and validity do NOT carry over to the new network. They will be forfeited once the port is complete.
Contacts saved directly to your old SIM card will be lost. Make sure to back up your contacts to your Google Account, iCloud, or Phone Memory before swapping SIMs.
